ABOUT US

Our Mission

Under the Weather® was established in 2015 by Kyla Sternlieb, Founder & President, to develop pet products for busy pet parents using only the highest quality ingredients and making them easy to use.

Under the Weather® was inspired by Ruffy, the founder's Wheaten Terrier, after going through a bout of digestive upset. Their veterinarian recommended putting Ruffy on a "bland diet" of cooked chicken and rice until healthy digestion was restored. After the inconvenience of shopping and cooking, she became determined to develop a more convenient solution for busy pet parents. Learn more about Ruffy's Story.

The company started with its line of freeze-dried bland diets which won an Industry Recognition Award by Pet Business magazine in December 2017.

Our Products Today

  • Bland Diets for Dogs - Six freeze-dried bland diets, now enhanced with electrolytes. No more cooking, just add water!
  • Hemp-Based Soft Chews for Dogs - Five soft chews for targeted support and overall health and well-being
  • Dog Supplements - Two soft chew supplements, a fast-acting probiotic gel and a high-calorie gel supplement
  • Cat Supplements - Five targeted soft chew supplements, a fast-acting probiotic gel and a high-calorie gel supplement

We Are Socially Responsible

Under the Weather® is an avid supporter of rescuing homeless pets. A portion of every sale supports the Ruffy Rescue Transport Fund to finance the transportation and neutering costs for bringing shelter animals from overpopulated areas of the USA to Vermont for adoption. In less than two years, the company's financial support has played a key role in the rescue and placement of several hundred pets.

Who We Are & Who We're Not

We are animal lovers who understand that our pets are family members. We are not veterinarians. The information we provide on this website and the products we create are not intended to diagnose or treat illness in your pet. We urge anyone with a sick pet to consult with their vet for an evaluation.
